PART 2: BOWING - TONE & ARTICULATION
The bowing section is divided into two parts. First we explore The LAWS of Tone: Lane, Amount, Weight & Speed, with clear guidance and imagery on how to achieve variety in your tone. Then we go into warm-ups for mastering all sorts of articulation.

Each portion starts of with a series of 4 etudes, longer in length than you'll find throughout the rest of the book that allow students to practice varied repetition to master each skill. The Etudes are progressively more difficult starting with Gear 1 alone, and adding additional Gears for more advanced players.

Then we dive further into specific concepts - so if you are working on spiccato for example, you can turn to the spiccato pages for instructions on how to practice the skill, followed by a seires of progressive warm-ups to master the skill.
